The End Is Near!
As we are coming to the end of the Bush Administration, with less than two months to go, everyone is looking forward January 21st, 2009. It is said that when President Elect Barack Obama takes control of our Great Nation, the Administration will have approximately Three Hundred Fifty Billion of the original Seven Hundred Billion TARP money left for them to spend. With this in mind, I find myself with several question I wish to have answered. The first question that pops into my head is: How much of the first Three Hundred Fifty Billion went where it was supposed to go and has it been spent by those benefactor properly or are we just supporting others lavish lifestyles? I am a firm believer in the idea that we shouldn’t throw good money after bad and if the benefactors are not using the fund properly those fund should be canceled all together, not spent on something else. I am very afraid of the thought of the TARP money becoming some type slush fund. The American tax payer has enough of his or her own economic problems to deal with, without have other causing more financial stress for them.
President Elect Obama has run his campaign and been elected on the belief that he and his administration will do the right thing by the American Citizens, After all that is who elected him, Citizens, not Corporations, Financial Institutions, Foreign Governments or Group. The Citizen of the United States of America are who he and his administration are accountable to. The promise to do the right thing for the U.S. has been made, All we can do as Citizen of the U.S. is have faith that the Change that was promised by our President Elect will take place. Keep this in mind though, in order for the change in the thinking and habits of the U.S. to take place, It has to start with us. After all, The U.S. is made of us!

I really agree with what your saying all I keep hearing is I need the government to bail this out and the government needs to do this and its the governments fault that I don’t have this job or that. Although the government needs to do more to help its citizens its not supposed to give us everything. The people need to take more responisibility in thier lives and go after what they want and quit blaming other people for thier failures. Isn’t that what America’s all about. I think Obama will be a great President because he understands that, thats what he had to do to get to where he is and he is all the Is 21st Century Rude…
One stat that really stands out ot me is that 80% of the world’s money is held by 10% of the people in it. Watching AIG’s executives rack up 500 dollar tabs at poolside restaurants or The Big Three’s executives flying into Washington to plead for money on private jets - a trip that costs $100,000 - leads me to believe that the TARP money very likely will not be used constructively (or at least not nearly as much as before). But, taking a page from Obama’s book, we can always hope.
